Le guerre le decidono e le dichiarano i politici. Poi i generali le dirigono e i soldati le combattono e muoiono. Se vincono, sono tutti eroi, se perdono, sono solo degli sconfitti … da dimenticare. La storia la scrivono gli imboscati e i sopravvissuti. La verità è bugiarda e inconoscibile, per questo viene riscritta ogni giorno.

Winners and defeated

The politicians decide and declare the wars. Then the generals direct them and the soldiers fight and die. If they win, they are all heroes, if they lose, they are just the defeats … to forget. The draft dodgers and survives write the history. The truth is lying and unknowable, so it is rewritten every day.
