Il passato postumo
La cultura occidentale è ormai preda degli inventariatori. Si sceglie un tema. Tizio ha detto questo, Caio quest’altro, ecc. Così si perde il senso critico degli avvenimenti presenti: non parliamo, ripetiamo; non sentiamo nemmeno le grida del presente; non vediamo i sinistri bagliori; non percepiamo i fatti, perché le mani guantate di ferro ci rendono inutilizzabile il senso tattile; viviamo un presente acritico assorbito in un passato postumo.
The posthumous past
The western culture is, at this point, prey of the inventories makers. Tom saw about this, Dick about that, et cetera. So we lost the critic sense of the current events; don’t talk, but repeat; don’t listen to shouts of the present; don’t see the grim signs; don’t perceive the events because the hands gloved in iron make useless the tactile sense. We live an uncritical present engrossed in a posthumous past.
